Program Impact
Since 2016, the IDEAS Program, formerly known as the Capacity Building Program for U.S. Study Abroad, has supported U.S. colleges and universities in their efforts to establish, expand, and broaden study abroad and other international opportunities on their campuses through grants and capacity building initiatives.
In 2024 the IDEAS Program awarded grants to 37 institutions. Minority-serving institutions comprise almost 40 percent of those institutions, two-year institutions represent approximately 25 percent, and 30 percent are rural-serving institutions.
Below are some of the highlights of the impact of the program’s small grants, trainings, and resources. Check out the grantee profiles to see the impact the program has had at their institutions, and plan to join us at one of our upcoming trainings!
